SINGAPORE-based automation and instrumentation specialists CMR (Far East) Pte Ltd has won a substantial contract to design and install a process batch control system for one of South East Asia’s leading food and drink manufacturers.

The work, being undertaken at Yeo Hiap Seng’s (Yeo’s) tea, soft drinks and sauces production plant in Singapore, sees the development of a system using Siemens PCS7 batch technology for S-88 Standard compliance.

This facilitates the development by CMR of an application that will track and trace the quality of ingredients during the production process alongside a customised batch reporting system. The work also involves the complete configuration and implementation of an integrated Clean In Place system and advanced recipe master functions.

The project’s being led by CMR (FE) Pte Ltd with support from its Philippines’ team in close cooperation with Yeo’s own plant engineering department.

The move comes as part of Yeo’s expansion into the Indochina market (Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam), where its also investing extensively in the construction of a new beverage production plant in Phnom Penh.
