New CMR Process Automation division meets regional automation demand

FURTHER EXPANSION INTO OTHER ASEAN MARKETS TO FOLLOW

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, MAY 20, 2016: INTERNATIONAL control, instrumentation and electrical engineering specialist CMR Group has launched its new Process Automation Division to the meet the strong demand for industrial automation systems and technical expertise in South East Asia.

Trading as CMRP Automation Inc., the operation will be based in Makati City, Manila providing design, engineering support, installation and commissioning services to the process industries sector in the Philippines, Singapore and SEA region.

Headed-up by general manager Rojel Rivera, the firm will be primarily engaged in industrial automation and low/medium voltage MCC and electrical system integration with a focus on industry wide issues such as remote access, industrial network security and wireless communications.

Targeting ambitious growth by the end of 2016, CMRP has already secured work from prestigious local customers in the cement, food and beverage, mining, power and pharmaceutical sectors.

Recently, a full Process Control System based on the Siemens Simatic PCS7 platform alongside a Low Voltage MCC was delivered to Northern Cement Corporation based in Pangasinan, Philippines. The following processes were covered;

  Vibrating Screen MCC

  Automation of Limestone Vibrating screen

  Pozzolan Drying System

  Impact Crusher MCC

  Automation of new Impact Crusher

  Finish Mill SCADA upgrading

Northern Cement, alongside other customers is benefitting from the company’s capacity to provide regionally focused added value solutions while being part of a larger organization with a global reach that can cater for any extensive technical or logistical requirements.

Currently employing a 13 strong-team supported by sub-contractors, Rojel Rivera sees the expansion on the back of further new technology introductions: the integration of manufacturing execution systems (MES) and technology platforms to meet the industrial security needs of customers.

He added: “The Philippines is a key market for industrial automation engineering services and we are set for expansion into the Mindanao region within the year.

“There’s also strong demand in Singapore and Cambodia where we are completing a number of projects, including significant food and beverage work, supported by CMR (Far East) Pte Ltd.

“We are harnessing all this demand for consumer and infrastructure industries to catapult us forward in other markets and territories as part of an overarching growth strategy.”

Rojel Rivera also said that a skilled and growth-driven team allows CMRP to meet customer requirements dynamically and with a strong sense for technology and innovation’ under the supervision of local professionals as well as the firm’s Singapore Integrated Controls and Automation Department.

Working to support Rojel Rivera will be Lindsey Salilig, business development manager, and Zavior Kulandasamy and Nelson Yeap from CMR Far East.

CMRP’s strong knowledge in industry-specific applications includes ISA-88 compliant batch engineering experience and specialized platform libraries (Siemens PCS 7 CEMAT, Braumat and Route Control). The new Philippines operation is part of CMR Group, which supplies instrumentation and controls for offshore platforms and vessels, marine, engines and industrial applications around the world.
