ROYSTON BECOMES
CMR SALES AGENT

Royston Diesel Power Becomes CMR Sales Agent

Royston Diesel Power has been appointed by CMR UK Ltd. as an authorised sales representative for its range of power generation engine control systems, wiring harnesses, instrumentation and sensors.

Under the new agreement, Royston will provide sales, spares and aftermarket support across the range of marine, power generation, industrial and oil and gas markets supplied by CMR.

The two companies, both based in the North East of England and originally established to support the region’s shipbuilding and marine engineering sectors, have successfully expanded their international interests.

CMR UK is part of the global CMR Group that employs 700 staff across eight global manufacturing sites.

Royston has operations in the UK and in Perth, Western Australia, where fully equipped diesel engineering workshops provide extensive engine repair and maintenance services in support of comprehensive drydock and onboard engine overhaul activities which are carried out on a worldwide basis.

As a result of the new arrangement, Royston will develop new sales opportunities for CMR products and technology in the UK, Australia and Africa and particularly as part of its existing marine diesel engines service, repair and overhaul business – a sector in which the two companies have considerable shared technical interests and market activities.

Lawrence Brown, managing director of Royston, said: “The range of engine management and control products produced by CMR fully complements our own focus on diesel engine service and maintenance activities and will also increase the range of specialist engine spares and components supplied by our parts business".

“As a result, the new relationship means we can extend the scope of products and services available to our customers, whilst introducing new opportunities to CMR.”

Both Royston and CMR have longstanding relationships with the main diesel engine OEMs and have shared engineering expertise and technical skills cross the full range of diesel engine power generation applications.

Neil Wilkinson, managing director of CMR UK, said: “We are delighted to have secured this arrangement which should bring considerable benefits for both companies".

“The two businesses are a perfect fit for each other, share a commitment to diesel engineering technical expertise and have the same core market interests".

“We are therefore confident that the new arrangement will help to expand both companies’ share of the diesel engines support market and we look forward to a successful collaboration.”
